BASICEVIC (Dimitrije). Ivan Generalić. Zagreb, Vinko Zlamalik, c.1962.
Large in-4 volume in grey bradel boards with cloth spine, complete with the original rhodoid cover.
Monograph dedicated to the Croatian naïve-art master Ivan Generalić (1914–1992), richly illustrated with black-and-white and colour reproductions of his work.
This copy is exceptionally enhanced by a large original drawing by Ivan Generalić, executed in ink on the front endpapers, signed and dated 2/5/1965. The drawing includes a rural scene, animals, and a handwritten dedication, fully consistent with Generalić’s characteristic style rooted in the Hlebine School.
A unique and highly collectible example, far superior to the standard monograph, combining documentation with an authentic original artwork by one of the most important figures of Croatian naïve painting.
Condition: interior clean; boards lightly aged; original rhodoid present.
A rare opportunity to acquire an original Generalić drawing within a contemporary publication.
