Roy LICHTENSTEIN - Crying Girl

Published in 1963 by Leo Castelli Gallery, NYC as a self-mailing invitation to one of the artist’s earliest gallery exhibitions, Crying Girl, by Roy Lichtenstein is a very early and iconic image printed as an offset lithograph in colors. The print measures 17 x 23 inches (43 x 58.4 cm), unframed and is from the unsigned, unnumbered edition as issued. With printed invitation text (verso) and a cancelled USPS postal stamp, this highly collectible artwork contains light folds consistent with its initial purpose and use. Printed and published by Leo Castelli Gallery, New York, the artwork is designated as Corlett II.1 in the artist’s catalogue raisonne.
