A fine and complete example of Cocteau’s celebrated portfolio created for the restoration of the Chapelle Saint-Pierre in Villefranche-sur-Mer. The set comprises 10 original lithographs in colour, printed by Imprimerie Mourlot, loose as issued, preserved in the original printed envelope and canvas-covered chemise.
This copy belongs to the exclusive group of 20 “hors commerce” examples, numbered in Roman numerals and bearing Cocteau’s autograph signature on the title page. These H.C. copies were reserved for the artist and his close circle and are significantly rarer than the standard edition on Arches.
