This original lithographic poster by Jean Cocteau was created for an exhibition of works related to his project at the Chapel of Saint Peter in Villefranche-sur-mer, in the South of France. The exhibition was held in 1957 at the Galerie Lucie Weill, near the Pont des Arts in Paris.
In 1956, Cocteau restored and decorated a small church in Villefranche sur Mer on the Cote d'Azur, a picturesque fishing town that had stolen his heart. At the encouragement of the town's fisherman association, he meticulously covered the chapel in painted frescoes that to this day amaze visitors with a breathtaking harmony between spirituality and creative artistry.
