Andy WARHOL - Campbell's Soup I: Black Bean (FS II.44)

The soup can prints are from Warhol’s famous portfolio titled Campbell’s Soup I (1968) and Campbell’s Soup II (1969). It features twenty different images of soup cans. Warhol became famous for depicting everyday objects in his art, with his show at the famed Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles in 1962, where he introduced the first Campbell’s Soup paintings. This was the catalyst for launching him into the spotlight.
