This is the first edition of Toros y Toreros, a major illustrated book uniting the worlds of art and bullfighting. Conceived as a collaboration between legendary matador Luis Miguel Dominguín and Pablo Picasso, this volume brings together an autobiographical text with a powerful visual cycle of drawings and compositions created by Picasso between 1957 and 1960.

The book features over 130 illustrations, including full-page color and monochrome reproductions, presented in an expressive and dynamic layout. The plates are finely printed using photo-lithographic techniques under the direction of Imprimerie Moderne du Lion, with typographic elements composed and overseen by Atelier Mourlot, Picasso’s long-time lithographic partner.

The paper used is high-quality Arches wove (vélin d’Arches), providing both texture and fidelity to the original drawings. The cover is illustrated with a bold composition by Picasso, also reproduced on the dust jacket. The text and artwork flow seamlessly, resulting in a highly aesthetic object that bridges literature, art, and the ritual of the corrida.
This edition stands as a landmark in Picasso’s book production, offering a vivid reflection of his fascination with bullfighting and his mastery of line and form.
