Collection of 40 woodcuts on laid paper. +/- 31,5 x 24,9 cm.
40 unsigned proofs for a projected portfolio after Richard Dehmel's epic "Zwei Menschen" (1903). E. A. Seeman in Leipzig announced but never published this portfolio for which Jansen cut about 72 woodblocks, thereof 5 text woodcuts and 23 variants. Apart from a few compilations Jansen did himself (using about 44 of the blocks and handmade wrappers) no complete set is known, for the simple reason that it is not entirely clear which selection was planned to be the final one for the edition. This selection of 40 proofs, including many variants, cannot be called complete but still representative.
