"DEUIL BOCHE" ("German Mourning"), A FINE ORIGINAL INK WASH DRAWING BY HERMANN-PAUL.
Hermann-Paul was famous, among other things, for the anti-German drawings and prints he produced during the First World War. This drawing is dated April 20, 1915. One German war widow consoles another with the words, "Vous avez de la veine, vous: le mien est mort avant d'avoir rien envoyé...".
The drawing was later reproduced as a limited-edition collotype, sometimes misdescribed as a "lithograph". (See second image, included for reference purposes.)
On fine Canson wove paper.
Signed by the artist.
In excellent condition.
UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT.
