A UNIQUE COLLECTION of 13 extremely fine, delicate etchings on Arches laid paper by noted symbolist painter Louis Edouard Fournier, executed for the illustrated edition of the works of Albert Samain published privately by Goubert in 1908.
Fournier (1857-1917) is now best remembered in France for his frescoes in the Grand Palais, and in England for his painting "The Funeral of Shelley" (1889).
Seven of the etchings are bons à tirer for the first (remarque) state, one of which is extensively annotated and all of which are SIGNED by the publisher. The other six are impressions of the second state.
These etchings are all in large 4to format, far larger than the book they were made for.
Attractively bound in recent quarter cloth. FINE AND BRIGHT.
UNIQUE.
