Each figure wears a flame for a head — a birthday candle multiplied endlessly, flickering yet luminous. The print holds all of Folon's melancholy tenderness, his art of making visible what usually escapes the eye: the passing of time, a generation keeping watch, a shared light of which each carries a part.
