Jugoyoe - A mysterious narrative evoking Japan’s spiritual traditions and moonlit myths.

The fifteenth night (Jugoyoya) of the lunar calendar is celebrated in Japan for moon-viewing and reflection. Dalí transforms this quiet tradition into an introspective Surrealist vision. The moon becomes an emblem of subconscious illumination, hovering over organic, dreamlike forms. The print’s subtle tonality and compositional balance capture a mood of stillness and contemplation — a dialogue between light and shadow that aligns Eastern spirituality with Dalí’s fascination with the dream state.
