Aubrey BEARDSLEY - The Yellow Book

Stereotype (relief etching) on wove paper after a drawing by Aubrey Beardsley. Trial proof before lettering for the first front cover design of "The Yellow Book", a British literary magazine published between 1894 and 1897 by Elkin Mathews and John Lane in London. Beardsley designed covers and title pages of the first 4 volumes before he was dismissed in the wake of Oscar Wildes's arrest.
