Henri De TOULOUSE-LAUTREC - Procès Arton — Tête de monsieur Jacques Saint-Cère

A pencil drawing on very fine wove paper.

A wonderful little sketch of a well-known Jewish journalist.

Signed with the estate stamp (Lugt 1338).

A study for the lithograph “Procès Lebaudy, déposition de Mademoiselle Marsy” (Delteil 194, Adhémar 191, Wittrock 152, Adriani 167). Wittrock and Adriani both cite this specific drawing in their entries for that lithograph.

Described and reproduced in M.G. Dortu, *Toulouse-Lautrec et son œuvre* (New York: Collectors editions, 1971), vol. VI, D 4088.
