This print is in excellent condition. This print was published by Ediciones Poligrafa, in Barcelona, Spain.
This print is beautifully framed, with $1000 worth of framing. It is the opinion of the gallery that most Tamayo etchings and mixografias are not properly or adequately framed. We go to great lengths to frame these in a manner that they deserve. We use hand-wrapped silk matting, and gorgeous molding. Please inquire. We would be happy to provide detailed images of the framing. All of the Tamayo printwork from MLA Gallery comes with an unconditional guarantee of authenticity, on the gallery letterhead, and a lifetime trade in policy.
It is signed, and numbered in white crayon. This print is rare, and difficult to find. The colors are gorgeous, the constructivist lines are elegant, and overall this print is a sublime example of how splendid Tamayo’s etching can be. Very subtle, earthy, and elegant.
Excellent prints by Tamayo represent a blue chip investment. They will more than likely appreciate dramatically over time. One of Tamayo’s paintings entitled “Trovador,” which was done in 1945, just set a record for the highest price ever paid at auction, for a Latin American painting, at the Christies sale on May 28th, when it sold for $7,209,000.00.
