Georges ROUAULT - Pierrot

Georges Rouault, Pierrot is an original Etching and Aquatint made in 1950. It is signed in the lower right margin, numbered from the edition of 150 and annotated “grave par Lacouriere” in the lower left margin. Image Size: 21 1/2 x 15 1/4 inches.

Pierrot is a stock character of pantomime and commedia dell’arte whose origins are in the late seventeenth-century Italian troupe of players performing in Paris and known as the Comédie-Italienne.
