Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)
Title: Portrait de Jeune Fille
Medium: Original drypoint Etching, Paris, 2/41964, on Velin de Rives paper, with full margins, signed by the artist in pencil
Edition: The Baer Catalogue states an edition of 50 plus 15 artists proofs. Orozco states that the work was never editioned. Our work shows no edition - but this was common amongst Picasso’s artists proofs which were often merely signed and not annotated as Artists Proofs. The print is scarce but we have found, online, other examples with numbering out of 50 so we take the view of Baer on this..
Literature:
Bloch, Georges. 1968-1979. Pablo Picasso, catalogue de l'oeuvre gravé et lithographié, 4 vol. Berne: Kornfeld and Klipstein. (Bloch 1370)

Miguel Orozco: The Complete etchings of Pablo Picasso, Volume II Number 1734 (Page 646)
Note: Baer states that the cancelled etching plate still exists. This large and handsome etching rarely comes up for sale. It is a beautiful example of the artists etching work.
