Pablo PICASSO - La Visage de la Paix 1951 Deluxe

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973)
Le Visage de la Paix
Paris: Éditions Cercle d’Art, 1951
Deluxe edition of this landmark Picasso–Éluard collaboration, issued in a strictly limited run on vélin Johannot pur fil paper.
This example is numbered in Roman numerals (XCVII / 97), from the edition of 150 deluxe copies, each including an original lithograph by Picasso. The lithograph was executed and printed by Atelier Mourlot, one of Picasso’s most important collaborators in printmaking.
The composition—combining a stylized human face with the dove of peace—stands as one of Picasso’s most iconic post-war images, directly linked to his engagement with the international peace movement in the early 1950s.
Copies from this deluxe issue were produced on superior paper and intended as the most refined state of the publication, distinguished from the standard edition by their material quality and limitation.
Preserved in its original format, this example retains its justification page and full integrity of the edition.
