A proof pulled from the canceled plate. Such proofs are normally printed to demonstrate that the plate has been canceled, and are almost always very rare.
In this case, only a few such proofs were printed, and the one we offer is THE ONLY KNOWN PROOF ON ARCHES LAID PAPER (it is mentioned by Geiser / Baer).
