In the course of the same month of March 1954, Picasso
also made a
lithograph,
Danseuse
(R. 656, M.
259) in four
colors
(yellow,
blue, violet and green) with lithographic pencil, and
scraper for green, on report papers passed to stones, that
will serve as 29.4 by 18.5 cm frontispiece printed at
10,000 copies of the book by Boris Kochno Le Ballet,
published in 1954 by Hachette publishing house.
Kochno had been, since 1921, personal secretary of the
choreographer Serge Diaghilev. This lithograph will also be
edited at 5 e.a. plus 50 proofs numbered and signed by the
painter and printed on a larger paper of 38.2 by 28.2 cm.
