The World Peace Council is an international organization that advocates universal disarmament, sovereignty and independence and peaceful co-existence, and campaigns against imperialism, weapons of mass destruction and all forms of discrimination. Founded in 1950, it has attracted the supported of influential politicians, artists and celebrities worldwide. In 1962, in support of the early life of the organization, Picasso created this original lithograph. Over time it has become enormously collectible and was featured in 2013 by the Tate/London in an exhibition of Picasso’s artwork.
