Note: Le Coq de Bruyere was a novel by Michel Tournier.
Michel Tournier (1924 − 2016), author of the novel “Le Coq de Bruyere, was a French writer and a friend of the artist. . He won awards such as the Grand Prix du roman de i’Academie Francis in 1967. His inspirations included traditional German culture, Religion and the philosophies of Gaston Bachard . He resided in Choisel and was a member of the Academy Gincourt. His autobiography has been translated and published as The Wind Spirit (Beacon Press, 1988). He was on occasion in contention for the Nobel price in literature
