REMARQUABLE GRAVURE EN COULEUR DE MAX ERNST SIGNÉE AU CRAYON ET JUSTIFIÉE 14/68.

Pour le tirage de luxe à 68 exemplaires numérotés de la première édition allemande du texte d'Antonin Artaud décrite ci-dessous :

ANTONIN ARTAUD : "Texte und Briefe". Cologne, Wolfang Hake Verlag, 1967.
1 volume in-4 carré (297 x 294 mm). Reliure non signée, dans le goût de G. Leroux, plein box blanc moucheté de bleu, titre mosaïqué de veau noir
sur le premier plat, dos long muet, tête dorée, couverture et dos conservés, non rogné. Chemise dos maroquin titré, étui.

Première édition allemande du texte d'Antonin Artaud.
Traduction par Dieter Hülsmanns et Friedolin Reske.

TIRAGE : 1 des 68 exemplaires de tête sur vélin, celui-ci numéroté 14, les seuls à comporter la gravure.

Note : La gravure est composée de deux cuivres superposés : une première impression monochrome d'un cuivre (21,5 x 15,5 cm) et d'un cuivre plus petit (13,8 x 11,2 cm) travaillé à l'eau-forte et à l'aquatinte masquant la première composition aux traits évanescents par un dessin très élaboré et fortement encré. L'on y discerne un tronc d'arbre épais et un oiseau curieux, sujets chers à l'artiste dans ces années soixante.
La gravure n'est pas reliée mais simplement montée sur un onglet fin et à toutes marges.
L'ouvrage, très rare, est en parfait état.
Le décor abstrait de la reliure s'inspire des textures des gravures de Max Ernst, l'exécution est parfaite.

- THE ETCHING : etching in colours on vellum paper Paper (sheet : 29,7 x 29,5 cm ; plate : 21,5 x 15,5 cm), hand signed in pencil by Max Ernst and numbered 14/68 from the head edition of 68. Printed by Georges Visat, Paris.
The print is composed with two different superimpsed copper plates, the smallest with aquatint hiding the major part of the monochrome first larger one. The sheet is not bound with the book but just slightly sticking to a japan paper strip. Full margins.

- The book : first german edition of Antonin Artaud "Texte und Briefe". Translation from the french by Dieter Hülsmanns et Friedolin Reske. Köln, Wolfang Hake Verlag, 1967.
- The binding : full white box with an abstract decoration in blue inspired by the texture and material of the Max Ernst etchings of this period. Title in mosaïc letters on the front, blue buckskin lining, slipcase.
