En 1986, Bernard Buffet visite réalise une magnifique série sur la cité des Doges. L’architecture et le charme vénitiens du Ca' d'oro attirent le regard de l’artiste comme en témoigne les quelques de l’album Venise : « J’éprouve pour Venise une attirance irréversible qui se mêle je l’avoue d’une sourde inquiétude non sans charme d’ailleurs. ».

In 1986 Bernard Buffet created a magnificent series on Venice; the architecture and charm of the Ca' d'Oro caught his eye. As he wrote in the Venise album: "I feel an irresistible attraction to Venice, mixed, I admit, with a dull unease that is not without charm."
